CLASSIC, FOR A REASON

Nine digits. One satisfying idea.

Every row, column, and 3×3 box needs 1–9 exactly once. No arithmetic, just a reason for each number.

Choose a cell, then a number. Take notes, rethink an entry, or ask for a hint in the cell you choose. There is no time limit.

Rules & controls

Good to know

A few answers before you settle in.

Can I leave and finish later?

Yes. Entries and notes are saved in this browser when storage is available. Use the same browser to return; clearing site data removes those saves. A new page load after midnight opens the new daily puzzle.

Does red mean the number is wrong?

Red means an entry repeats in its row, column, or box. It is a rule-conflict warning, not an answer check. A number without a red warning can still be wrong. Learn to find a certain move.

Will a hint spoil the whole puzzle?

No. Select an empty cell, then tap Hint. Only that cell is filled. Hints are unlimited, and the count appears in your completed result.

When is the next puzzle ready?

At your browser's local midnight. An open game is not automatically replaced. The completed result shows a countdown and a Load New Puzzle button when the next day is ready. More about the daily ritual.
